“So Matilda’s strong young mind continued to grow, nurtured by the voices of all those authors who had sent their books out into the world like ships on the sea. These books gave Matilda a hopeful and comforting message: You are not alone.”
― Roald Dahl, Matilda
About Zora Knauf, Founder of Knauf Editing & Publishing
Ever since I was a little girl, reading has been a daily retreat for my mind and an outlet for my imagination. My mother, an author herself, would read to me nightly, and those were my most cherished childhood memories. Now 32 years old, I'm no longer reaching for Frog and Toad for my nightly bedtime story, learning and literature are still the most important parts of my day.
What you attend to reflects your values, and as an American and Colorado native, I’m a firm believer in freedom of expression in addition to the importance of the written word. I don't believe you should hand over your publishing rights or your intellectual property to a traditional publishing company if you can help it.
Not only do I assist authors with all stages of the self-publishing process; I strive to demystify it for them so that they can do it better, faster, and cheaper their next time around.
I have been working in the self-publishing industry since 2010 and I am here to help you with any or every stage of the self-publishing process, including editing, proofreading, formatting for KDP and Ingram Spark (or other platforms upon request), and designing or arbitraging contractors to design your book cover and create interior illustrations.
I worked as the lead editor for the hybrid publishing company Lifestyle Entrepreneurs Press from 2016 - 2022 and am currently contracted by multiple publishing consultants and small publishing companies. I do, however, love working one-on-one with authors and businesspeople.
In 2015, I obtained my Master of Science degree in Applied Psychology from Trinity College Dublin. In 2013, I received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Colorado Boulder. Because of my educational background, most of the projects I work on are in the personal-development/self-help genre. However, I'm not going to lie, fiction is still, just as it was when I was a little girl, my very favorite.
Contact me today, and let’s discuss your book project!
